GST in New Zealand is charged at 15%. This calculator adds 15% to a GST-exclusive amount and takes 3/23 of a GST-inclusive amount, which is the method published by Inland Revenue.
Add GST, remove GST, or work backwards from the GST amount using a private calculator built for New Zealand dollars.

Three questions cover almost every GST calculation. The calculator answers all three at once, but the arithmetic behind each one is short enough to check by hand.
You have a price that excludes GST and need the total to charge.
GST = amount × 0.15
$100.00 becomes $15.00 of GST and $115.00 to pay.
You have a GST-inclusive price and need the GST inside it.
GST = amount × 3 ÷ 23
$115.00 contains $15.00 of GST, leaving $100.00 excluding GST.
You know the GST alone and need both prices behind it.
Excluding GST = GST × 20 ÷ 3
$15.00 of GST means $100.00 excluding and $115.00 including.
Each result is rounded once to the nearest cent, and a fraction of exactly half a cent is discarded, following Inland Revenue's treatment of fractions of a cent.

GST is charged at 15% on most goods and services. A few supplies are zero-rated, such as exported goods and services, and some, including most financial services, are exempt.
Multiply the GST-inclusive price by 3 and divide by 23. On a $115.00 price that is $15.00 of GST, leaving $100.00 excluding GST.
It reaches the same answer. The 3/23 fraction is the one Inland Revenue publishes, and it avoids rounding a repeating decimal partway through the calculation.
You must register when your turnover was at least $60,000 in the last 12 months, or you expect it will be at least $60,000 in the next 12 months.

Yes. Negative amounts are accepted, so you can work out the GST on a reduction. How that adjustment should be reported is still your decision.
